Kris Niklison
Internationally awarded as an actress, choreographer, playwright, theatre director and filmmaker. She was born in Buenos Aires where she graduated from the ENAD and lived in Amsterdam where she founded the Kris Niklison Theatre Company, worked with Peter Greenaway, Dario Fo and at The National Ballet Academy. She resided also in Hamburg, where she starred at Cirque du Soleil. Her shows, a combination of physical theater, dance, video projections and text, were presented in over 20 countries of 4 continents conquerring the audience and the international press. In 2006 she returned to Buenos Aires and founded Basata Films. Her first feature, Dilettante, produced in association with Mrs Lita Stantic, was winner of Best Argentine Feature Film at the 23* Mar del Plata Film Festival, Best Documentary at the 50* Cartagena Film Festival and declared of Cultural Interest by the Honorable Senate of Argentina. Her second feature, Vergel, had it’s world premiere at the Argentinean Competition of the 19* BAFICI. Her third script, The Boatman, recently won the Develpment Fund Support from Ibermedia. |
